Position Designation: Overhire

Position Reports To: Technical Director, Changeover Supervisor, Head of Automation

Opportunity:
Drury Lane Theatre is seeking detail oriented, focused individuals who will assist in the strike, prep, and installation of productions during the Changeover periods at Drury Lane. Any shifts will be sent out at the earliest availability and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. The upcoming available dates are June 3rd thru 15th, 2024

Essential Knowledge Required

·         Must have working knowledge of Theatrical Carpentry

·         Must not be afraid of heights

·         Experience with power tools and pneumatics required

·         Basic knots used for hoisting (bowline, clove hitch, etc)

·         Reading Construction and Installation Drawings

Expectation of Position
·         Loading and unloading truck of scenery and masking

·         Following instructions from management or from installation drawings provided for the project

·         Understanding the current best practices for Theatrical Construction and Installations

·         Ability to work at up to heights of 22’ from person lifts

·         Using a variety of power tools including but not limited to; circular saws, jig saws, reciprocating saws, drills, impact drivers, angle grinders, and porta-bands to assist in the current project of the changeover process

·         Work independently as well as work in groups of up to 10 individuals

·         Demonstrate an understanding of, sensitivity to and appreciation for the diverse ethnic, socio-economic, disability and gender diversity of guests and staff

·         Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays

·         Present proof of eligibility to work in the United States

·         Present proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster(s)

·         Reliable transportation required

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate, converse with, and exchange information, required to be in stationary seated position, use hands and fingers to grab and reach with hands and arms, occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch, may occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds, specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus and specific hearing abilities

Pay
$18.00-$22.00/hr an hour, depending on experience
