2025 Summer Internship
Oil Lamp Theater seeks current college-aged, or recently graduated, young adult for a summer internship on-site at our locations in Glenview, IL. Our theater is a 60-seat professional venue dedicated to producing intimate, high-quality performances that inspire and connect our community. Our SPARK CENTER for the Performing Arts features two-spacious studios and is a space dedicated for summer camps, and adult and youth education. We are looking for an energetic and curious intern, interested in theater administration and education, to share their skills and enthusiasm.
About the Role
Oil Lamp Theater’s summer internship will provide the candidate with a wide scope of experiences and responsibilities at the theater over the course of 7-8 weeks. Key responsibilities will be determined, prior to the start, to best fit the needs of the theater and the desired areas of learning for the intern. It is ideal for a young adult currently studying theater who is interested in gaining experience in theater operations and education programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to OLT Executive Director and General Manager including, but not limited to, record-keeping, organization, and communication.
- Provide administrative support to the Education Director including, but not limited to, communicating with summer camp families.
- Help prepare and assemble any necessary materials to be used for camps.
- Assist lead teachers during camps with flexibility, empathy, and enthusiasm.
- Assist OLT staff with on-going development and fundraising projects, as needed.
Requirements
- Prior experience with theater performance, administration, and/or theater education
- Proof of age, candidate must be 22 years old or younger
- Must be comfortable working around children
- Must be able to work in a multi-person, collaborative environment
- Clear background check

Compensation
Total compensation is approximately $3300 for a commitment of 7-8 weeks during the months of June, July, and August. (30-35 hours/week for most weeks)
