Artemisia Theatre is seeking new members for our Artistic Leadership Coalition (ALC) — a collaborative, creative body that functions like a board, but with an artistic soul. The ALC is where big ideas, bold plays, and strategic decisions come together to shape the work we do. If you’re passionate about intersectional feminism, believe in the power of storytelling, and want to make a real impact in the arts, this is your place.
What is the ALC?
The ALC is the leadership engine behind Artemisia. It’s where we imagine seasons, read scripts, plan budgets, brainstorm marketing, fundraise, and make sure every production aligns with our mission: to amplify the voices of ALL women theatre artists of all racial and ethnic backgrounds; sexual orientations and identities; economic status; ages and disabilities through radical, inclusive, and accessible theatre. After all, anyone can be a feminist.
We’re looking for people who:
Can commit to monthly meetings (remote and/or in-person)
Are passionate about feminism, social justice, and the arts
Respect a democratic, collective decision-making process
Want to be part of a collaborative and non-hierarchical organization
Helpful skills or experiences (but not required):
Fundraising or donor relations
Budgeting or nonprofit finances
Marketing or content strategy
Theatre production or administration
Community organizing or advocacy
What ALC Members Do:
Artistic Vision & Programming (“The Face” of Artemisia):
Help choose our season: themes, scripts, and partnerships
Weigh in on casting, hiring, and team-building decisions
Support and supervise marketing and community engagement
Organizational Oversight (“The Bones” of Artemisia):
Review and approve budgets for seasons and shows
Fundraise and build community support to grow our impact
Ensure we only take on projects we have the capacity to do sustainably
