Harand Camp of the Theatre Arts, a musical theater camp located at Carthage College in Kenosha, is seeking a staff-level Vocal Music Director/Accompanist to join our team for the Second Session of our 70th Anniversary Season – July 6-27, 2025. This is a senior staff-level position that pays ~$600+ per week and also includes full room and board on a college campus (including a private suite with bathroom and 3 meals per day, valued an additional ~$550+/week).
Our Vocal Music Directors / Accompanists teach vocal music and accompany two musicals during our 3-week second session (one junior, one full-length). They play piano for singing and dance classes, working and teaching collaboratively with our musical theater staff. They also play evening rehearsals and final performances, as well as for camper and staff talent shows and other special events as needed. This is a senior staff position that does NOT require cabin counselor duties!
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to lead the teaching of vocal music
- Familiarity with musical theater vocal repertoire
- Experience working with young people
- Demonstrated ability to accompany musicals, vocalists and/or ensembles
- Excellent sight reading is a must
- Performance or accompaniment samples will be requested
- Advanced training in music or education preferred (or comparable experience)
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Preferably 21+ and out of college with teaching or music directing experience with young performers
- Excellent with kids of all ages
- High energy + flexible in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership + team-building skills
- Positive attitude, common sense, and sound judgment
- Sincere desire to be a role model for children

- Salary: $1800+ for the 3-week session, plus Travel Stipend if needed

- Occasional evenings and Sundays off
- Dates: July 6 – 27, 2025 (move-in: July 6 afternoon/evening, camper arrival: July 7, rehearsals begin: July 8, final performances: July 26)
