Here’s the Exit Theatre Company is honored to present the Chicago premiere of wayfinding by Whitney Rowland, directed by Hudson Therriault.
Jane is an emotionally-numbed new widow. Harrison is an inattentive, self-sabotaging fiancé. In seeking escape, these two strangers collide – both literally and figuratively – tangling their life lines and setting them on a time-bending journey involving an intercontinental plane crash, a magical forest, and a choice that leads them both to an unexpected destination.
wayfinding is a delightfully human play that deals unflinchingly with grief, self sabotage, and loneliness while daring us to hope. Wonderfully complicated leads and a host of compelling supporting characters are led on a journey bending time and space. wayfinding pairs elements of magical realism with a deep emotional core and shows us that connection is worth it, even when it hurts.
We are seeking a skilled and thoughtful lighting designer who can capture the mystic and surreal nature of this script and take our audience on a journey through time and space.
