COMPENSATION RATE: $29.76 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Goodman Theatre seeks a Stagehand to be an essential member of our Show Run Crew Staff for the 8-show season, our annual production of A Christmas Carol, New Stages Festival, and special events. Their primary space will be the Owen Theatre, and they may join the Albert Theatre crew when possible.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with Stage Management, Production Staff, Directors, Actors and other Run Crew members during technical rehearsals, understudy rehearsals, and performances to accomplish the goals of the show.
- Lead any additional Owen Run Crew throughout tech rehearsals and performances.
- Preset, run, maintain, and repair show elements during the run of the show.
- Communicate needs and issues related to the backstage and run of show with respective Production Staff.
- Actively assist in the organizing, cleaning, and maintaining of backstage work areas, prop work room and theatre storage areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years professional run crew experience.
- Proven ability to lead other crew members during the run of a show.
- Knowledge of prop and scenery construction, modification, and fabrication. Stage firearm and weaponry experience are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of backstage theatrical practices.
- Collaborative, punctual, detail oriented, well organized and the ability to maintain a positive attitude.
- Able to work under pressure and respond efficiently to frequent priority changes.
- Ability to repeatedly lift, push, or maneuver up to 50 lbs. either alone or with assistance.
- Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights.
