Dream Hou$e will be produced in The Bookspan Theatre at the Den Theatre in Wicker Park in September-October, 2024 with rehearsals beginning in August.

BACKSTAGE CREW: Seeking three (3) Crew members at a rate of $1,100 each.
Wardrobe: The Wardrobe Crew member supports the Costume Designer and Production Team in maintaining, laundering, organizing, and assisting with all costume-related elements during tech and performances. This role ensures that costumes are prepped, performers are dressed correctly, and quick changes are executed efficiently.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with costume organization, maintenance, and preset for each performance.
- Support performers with dressing needs, including quick changes during the show.
- Complete minor costume repairs or adjustments as needed.
- Track costume pieces to ensure proper care, cleanliness, and return after each show.
- Work closely with the Stage Management team to maintain the run schedule and safety backstage.
- Launder costumes after every performance and prepare Dry Cleaning weekly

Scenic Crew: The Scenic Crew member is responsible for managing scenic and prop elements during tech and performances. This includes moving set pieces and props, operating scenic shifts, and ensuring backstage areas remain safe and organized. Backstage Crew will report to the Stage Management team.
Responsibilities include:
- Execute scene changes and scenic shifts according to the production’s run sheet and stage manager’s cues.
- Maintain backstage areas in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
- Assist with setup and strike of scenic elements and props as directed.
- Inspect scenic elements and props before each show for functionality and safety.
- Communicate effectively with the Stage Management team to ensure smooth transitions during the performance.
- See at least one rehearsal run prior to tech

AV Crew: The AV Crew Member will be responsible for operating and managing all live-stream technology for Dream Hou$e. This includes running the video switch board, managing multiple cameras and monitors, and ensuring a smooth, high-quality live-stream experience for our audience. This role requires technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced theatrical environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Operate live-stream technology during all scheduled performances, including:
- Video switch board operations
- Multiple camera feeds
- Multiple monitors and display outputs
- Collaborate with the Stage Manager and Production Team to maintain sync within live performance and in accordance with the cue sheets.
- Monitor visual quality throughout the performance, troubleshooting issues in real time.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of AV equipment for tech, and performances.
- Ensure all equipment is properly connected, tested, and functioning before each show.
- Maintain organization of cables, power supplies, and related AV gear.
- Support any additional digital integration or AV needs during the run of the show.

COVERS: Seeking two (2) covers at a rate of $300 each
Crew Cover: The Crew Cover serves as a trained substitute for backstage crew positions (Wardrobe, Scenic & AV) in the event of illness or scheduling conflicts. This role requires familiarity with the show’s backstage operations and flexibility to step into either role as needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Attend designated rehearsals and tech sessions to learn both wardrobe and scenic track responsibilities.
See a run of the show - Shadow all crew tracks
- Run the track with supervision
- Maintain availability during performances to cover crew tracks on short notice.
- Execute all duties of the assigned crew track accurately and efficiently when covering.
- Communicate promptly with Stage Management regarding availability and any scheduling conflicts.
- See at least one rehearsal run prior to tech
SM Cover: The Stage Management Cover provides backup support for the Stage Management team, stepping in as needed for the Assistant Stage Manager (ASM) or Stage Manager (SM). This role ensures the smooth execution of rehearsals or performances in the absence of a primary stage management team member.
Responsibilities Include:
- Attend selected rehearsals and tech to learn the show’s calling script, backstage track, and run-of-show procedures.
- See a run of the show
- Shadow both tracks
- Run the track with supervision
- Maintain readiness to call the show or run backstage tracks if covering SM or ASM duties.
- Support the Stage Management team with paperwork, rehearsal tracking, and prop/scenic checks as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and communication standards when on duty.
- See at least one rehearsal run prior to tech
- There is a guaranteed ON date for this position on Sunday, October 12th for the ASM track
