
Rogers Park Artists Cooperative (RPAC)
Strawdog Theatre Company and Factory Theater are seeking a part-time, contract Project Manager to help launch the Rogers Park Artists Cooperative (RPAC) an exciting new initiative designed to strengthen Chicago’s theater community by pooling resources, talent, and financial responsibilities.
RPAC will serve as a shared hub for Strawdog and Factory in Finance, Development, Marketing, Front of House, and Facilities, with the long-term goal of welcoming additional companies into the cooperative. This is a unique opportunity for a visionary leader to help shape the foundation of a new organization that will support artists, ensure sustainability, and create a model for collaboration in Chicago theater.
About the Role
The Project Manager will lead the organizational groundwork for RPAC, working closely with Strawdog and Factory leadership to develop a clear business plan and operational structure. This role is ideal for someone who understands the needs of both artists and administrators, and who thrives in building strong systems that allow creativity to flourish.
Key Responsibilities
Design an organizational chart and identify hiring priorities
Develop a five-year plan to guide RPAC’s growth and sustainability
Engage legal counsel to establish a new 501(c)(3) or LLC (based on recommendations)
Directly oversee the Grant Manager position
Supervise additional staff members as they are hired
Ideal Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
5+ years of experience in management positions
Proven track record of leading small teams effectively
Demonstrated success in launching or growing new organizations
Significant experience with 501(c)(3) nonprofits (preferably in the arts)
Strong preference for candidates with extensive theatrical experience and a passion for supporting artists
