Assistant Stage Manager

Chicago Opera Theater is seeking an Assistant Stage Manager for the Chicago premiere of Kurt Weill’s DER SILBERSEE (The Silverlake) More about the production can be found here: https://www.chicagooperatheater.org/silbersee-weill

Contract dates run from January 28 – March 8, 2026, with all rehearsals and performances at the Fine Arts Building, 410 S. Michigan Ave. Includes regular daytimes and evenings.

Ability to read music is required. The opera will be called off the score.

Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain with COT’s sponsorship, membership in AGMA (the union for opera singers, stage managers, and directors). AGMA has some reciprocity with AEA and SDC, which can reduce membership fees. More information on dues can be found here.
