Front of House Team Members (House Management, Box Office, and Concessions)

Porchlight Music Theatre, the award-winning center for music theatre in Chicago, seeks motivated individuals to join our dynamic front of house team to support our upcoming production of “The Irish … and How They Got That Way” at Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn. These part-time, hourly positions begin mid- to late January 2026 and end mid-to-late March 2026.  Front of House team members are cross trained in the areas of House Management, Box Office, and Concessions.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

House Management

• Provide the highest level of customer service to patrons of all ages and abilities
• Supervise and assist volunteer ushers from The Saints Program
• Set up ticket scanners, signage, and other house materials
• Work collaboratively with other PMT Team members to coordinate front and back of house operations,

Box Office

• Process ticket orders by taking phone calls and assisting walk-up patrons, both with single ticket and subscription orders
• Process cash and credit card transactions
• Maintain all customer records in Porchlight’s ticketing software, PatronManager
• Provide excellent customer service over the phone, in person, and via e-mail

Concessions

• Set up and tear down concessions kiosk pre- and post-performance, including lobby furniture, food items, drinks, and other necessary equipment
• Complete cash reconciliation from daily sales
• Keep inventory of supplies

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous customer service experience, computer proficiency, and general office skills are required
• Must be available to work evenings and weekends
• Excellent phone skills and a positive, respectful and patient approach to patrons is required
• Punctuality and professionalism is a must
• Ticketing system and/or PatronManager experience is a plus
• Previous experience working in a theatre is a plus
