REPORTS TO: Company Manager (Theatre of the Mind)

FLSA STATUS: Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

COMPENSATION RATE: $33.44 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Goodman Theatre seeks a skilled Wardrobe Dresser responsible for running performances of Theatre of The Mind in Reid Murdoch Building supporting the wardrobe needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and preset assigned costume pieces prior to each performance.
  • Assist performers with costume changes and all backstage handoffs.
  • Perform routine maintenance, laundry including basic costume upkeep as required.
  • Develop, document, and refine an accurate wardrobe track throughout the technical rehearsal process.
  • Maintain wardrobe and dressing spaces.
  • Acquire all necessary ongoing supplies
  • Assist with fittings
  • Assist with preproduction alterations
  • Assist with wardrobe and dressing spaces set up and organization

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 2–3 years of professional wardrobe/supervision experience in theatre or a related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of backstage operations, performance protocols, and run-of-show procedures.
  • Advanced sewing skills required.
  • Highly organized, punctual, and attentive to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a production team and maintain a positive, supportive attitude in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
