iO Theater, Chicago’s premier improv institution since 1981, is looking for a part time Front of House manager!
Job duties:
Lead the oversight of the theater performances each night and act as a central figure of information and communication between different staffs.
Oversee the process of selling tickets, directing guests, seating guests, attending to guests needs and questions, maintaining a clean facility, and making sure the shows are running smoothly and in a timely manner.
Oversee service at bars and theaters, assuring smooth food & beverage service while maintaining low ticket times.
Conduct daily and on-going education for FOH team members
Assist in executing new F&B initiatives and service protocols through staff training
Interact with guests to ensure service and food quality, while cultivating relationships with guests to create return business
Drive and support the continual development of FOH team members by upholding performance expectations, providing ongoing feedback, and offering input for regular performance reviews
Adjust POS (Toast) for any items out of stock, on a count, or being added on the fly
Scheduling of FOH staff
Requirements:
Communication and visibility are an important part of this role and require House Managers to stay active and present throughout the building; must feel comfortable overseeing multiple departments and have a strong understanding of how they feed into/compliment each other.

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure
Willing to accept guidance in a positive manner and implement any new directives
Ability to demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environment
2+ years of restaurant/theater FOH supervisory experience
Proficiency in Toast; experience with online ticketing platforms a plus
Ability to support administrative tasks relating to the front of house, including but not limited to financial reporting, scheduling, and facilities maintenance.
A proven track record of dependability, a continuous desire for learning and development, and a history of consistently and successfully fulfilling all role responsibilities
