Website Young People's Theatre of Chicago
The Young People’s Theatre of Chicago (YPT) seeks a Stage Manager for its upcoming stage adaptation of The Hula-Hoopin’ Queen.
Evanston playwright Gloria Bond Clunie’s sweet, funny, and spirited 6-person adaptation of Thelma Lynn Godin’s award-winning children’s book follows three Harlem girls and their loving families as they vie for the coveted crown of neighborhood Hula-Hoopin’ Queen! Championed by Oprah Winfrey, this Chicago Public Library’s “Best of the Best” award-winner is a joyful reminder of the essentials that bind our communities!
This story centers artists of color, and as such we especially encourage those who resonate with this identity to apply.
Currently in its fourth season of operations, YPT is the professional Theatre For Young Audiences company in-residence at The Greenhouse Theater Center. With nearly 15,000 audience members – families and students alike – projected to come through our doors, we’re excited to be rounding out this season amongst good company!
