We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Costume Designer for an upcoming production of All’s Well That Ends Well.
Key Dates & Commitment:
Table Read (Optional but Encouraged):
May 9 at 6:00 PM (in person)
Design & Pre-Production:
May – June (virtual/in-person meetings as needed)
Rehearsals:
July 7 – July 31
Designers are not required at all rehearsals but should attend key fittings and run-throughs
Tech & Dress:
Tech: August 1, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Dress Rehearsal: August 6, 4:00 PM call, 5:00 PM start
Performances:
August 7–9
August 14–16
August 21–23
All shows at 5:00 PM (4:00 PM call)
Closing performance followed by strike
Locations:
UIC (1040 W Harrison St, Chicago – Basement Room L467)
Nathan Moore House (333 Forest Ave, Oak Park)
Responsibilities Include:
Developing a cohesive costume design concept in collaboration with the director and design team
Sourcing, pulling, or building costumes within budget
Coordinating and attending fittings
Managing costume tracking, maintenance, and quick changes as needed
Collaborating with stage management and other designers throughout the process
Supporting costume strike and returns
Ideal Candidate:
Prior costume design experience (Shakespeare a plus)
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work within budget constraints
Collaborative and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable working across multiple locations
Compensation:
Stipend of $750
