Theatre classes & camps for school-aged kids
Teaching artist needed for 1- week summer theatre/musical theatre camps for ages 4-13 running July 20 – August 7, 9am-4pm. Camps located in Downers Grove.
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age
- At least 1 year experience working with school-aged children
- Car strongly preferred (Downers Grove location is about a 9-minute walk from BNSF Metra Line.)
- Travel stipend will be paid if traveling from Chicago or for longer distances
- CPR certification preferred but not required
- Musical theatre/theatre background or elementary/early childhood education teaching certificate
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to confidently facilitate a 15:1 student-teacher ratio
- Comfortable teaching songs to karaoke tracks (no accompaniment required)
- Knowledge of theatre and improv games or willingness to learn
- Fun personality with the ability to excite and engage school-aged children
- Must be punctual, trustworthy, responsible, organized, and creative
- Able to pass an IL state police and FBI background check
