Simple Theatre is seeking TWO directors or production teams to compete in our second Competitive Theatre League (CTL).
Two production teams will be given the same script, A Game by Dennis E. Noble. Each team will independently produce the play before presenting their interpretation to audiences over three performances:
Saturday, September 12 – 1:30 PM
Saturday, September 12 – 3:00 PM
Sunday, September 13 – 1:30 PM
A winning production will be determined through cumulative scoring – from audience and theatre professional adjudicators – across all three performances.
The CTL Champion will receive 15% of total ticket sales, while the Runner-Up will receive 10%.
As part of the scoring, audience members will have the opportunity to cast Donation Votes in support of their favorite team. Teams will receive 50% of the proceeds generated through their own Donation Votes.
Each group will be responsible for casting its own actors and securing any additional rehearsal time and space outside of the rehearsal hours scheduled at Jarvis Square Theatre.
Saturday, August 29 – 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Sunday, August 30 – 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Saturday, September 5 – 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Sunday, September 6 – 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Simple Theatre will provide the set, per the script – a taped floor plan, a chair, and a hanging light bulb. Teams will costume their show; contemporary clothing will suffice.
