New Works Play Submissions – General 26/27

Thank you so much for your interest in Adams Theatre Company’s New Works Initiatives! We are super excited to connect and (hopefully) present your work in our upcoming programming.

ATC is a non-profit organization that was founded six years ago in New Jersey to give young artists the opportunity to lead in meaningful ways. This past January, we officially made our Chicago debut with our New Year, New Works Play Festival at Theater Wit. The festival featured seven staged readings over one weekend, highlighting emerging Chicago artists both onstage and behind the table.

As we continue to expand our new works programming, we’re launching an initiative this fall that will culminate in producing and developing one new play each month leading up to our second annual festival in January.

We are looking for 10-15 new plays (or other creative works) to be presented over the course of the next few months, including during our festival. We encourage submissions of plays that center the joy and range of complex cultural experiences. ATC invites women, queer, BI-POC, and artists of all ability to apply.

If you are interested in submitting for our reading series & festival, please submit any drafts, synopsis, or samples using this form below. Submissions will be reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis THROUGH NOVEMBER 15, 2026. Any submissions after this date will not be considered. If selected, your play will receive a director, dramaturg, casts, and two in person rehearsal days leading up to a staged reading of the production.
