BARTENDER

Do you want to bartend, but don’t want to work terribly late? Do you love theater? Come work with us!

ABOUT US

Our upcoming production, Going Bacharach, will be starting preview performances on April 8th and will run 8 shows a week with matinees at 2:30pm and evening shows at 7:30pm. The show will run Tuesdays through Sundays

The Apollo Theater offers patrons a concession bar offering beer, wine, soft drinks and snacks to complete their theater experience. There will also be a second bar on stage for pre-show serving canned wine and beer on tap being served by actors and operated by a second bartender/usher

THE JOB

Our Bartending position is a fast paced fun job that can easily be worked into almost any schedule. We’re looking for somebody who takes pride in their work, is personable, and who can work quickly and accurately!

$15/hr plus tips

Approximately 6-9 hours per week.

Applicants must be 21+ years of age in order to be considered for this position.

Must be able to stand for extended periods, and lift at least 20lbs of weight.

Applicants must have evening and weekend availability.

Bartender shifts are scheduled around performance times.

No experience necessary, and if uncertified we will sign you up for a course immediately upon hire.

USHER

ABOUT US

THE JOB

Our Ushers report to our House Managers, and can have a handful of different jobs as appointed by the House Manager at the beginning of the shift. Ushers are in charge of showing patrons to their seats inside the theater, scanning tickets, operating Square point of sale, and sitting inside the theater to watch for any potential issues.

All applicants should have exemplary customer service skills. The job requires the ability to walk up and down stairs in theater seating.

Applicants must be able to stand for long periods of time, climb stairs without the assistance of a railing, climb stairs for 30 minutes at a time, lift at least 20 lbs of weight, move easily in low light, read print on both tickets and phone screens

Position is $16.60/hr

Approximately 12-16 hours per week.

Applicants must have night and weekend availability.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position

Usher shifts are scheduled around performance times.

No experience necessary, we will train you, but customer service experience is a plus.

BOX OFFICE

THE JOB

The Box Office position requires people who are comfortable providing top quality customer service to all Apollo Theater patrons while assisting them in purchasing tickets, planning their visit to the theater, finding their seats, and solving issues that may arise. Previous knowledge of TicketMaster Host is a requirement!

Job duties include, but aren’t limited to, answering phones, selling tickets via TicketMaster, managing box office emails, answering questions about the theater/shows and the surrounding area, seating patrons, selling merchandise, light cleaning,  running/sending reports, and general support of pre-show and post- show operations.

 

Position is $19/hr

Approximately 10-14 hours per week.

Applicants must have daytime and weekend availability. Additional evening availability is a plus!

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position

Box Office shifts are scheduled around performance times.

Previous knowledge of TicketMaster Host is a requirement!

HOUSE MANAGER

THE JOB

The House Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety of the audience, the efficiency of the house staff, and maintaining the goals and values of the Apollo Theater Chicago.

All applicants should have exemplary customer service skills and be able to keep calm and collected in this fast paced environment. The job requires the ability to walk up and down stairs in theater seating.

Applicants must be able to stand for long periods of time, climb stairs without the assistance of a railing, climb stairs for 30 minutes at a time, lift at least 20 lbs of weight, move easily in low light, read print on both tickets and phone screens

Position is $20/hr

Approximately 10-12 hours per week.

Applicants must have night and weekend availability.

House Manager and Usher shifts are scheduled around performance times.

Applicants must be 21 years of age or older to be considered for this position

No experience necessary, we will train you, but customer service experience is a plus.
