Position Status: Part-time permanent, 20-25 hours/week
Reports to: Production Manager
Metropolis Performing Arts Centre is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in the heart of downtown Arlington Heights. It houses a 329-seat theater space as well as a full school of performing arts that includes drama, dance, and music lessons. We are currently looking for an Assistant Production Manager to assist the production manager with a variety of responsibilities.
Responsibilities Include:
– Attend production meetings and rehearsals
– Maintain notes and build agendas for all Production Department meetings
– Act as a liaison between the designers and staff
– Prepare contracts and bi-weekly payroll files for cast and crew members
– Coordinate with marketing on promotional materials
– Manage and organize invoices and receipts and their designation per production
– Assist casting with managing auditions
– Apply for the rights to all proposed shows for the upcoming seasons.
– Organize and update licensing files for all shows produced by MPAC
– Assist in researching plays and musicals for inclusion in MPAC season offerings
– Creating strike schedules for all Produced Shows
– Other tasks as needed to help Production Manager fulfill their duties

Educational Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in the area of theater arts a plus, or equivalent experience

Experience & Skills Required:
– Strong communication skills
– Strong organization skills
– Works well both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
– Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
– Three-five years of experience working in a technical or production capacity in professional theatre environment
– Event production experience a plus
