Audio Production Specialist
McAninch Arts Center at the College of Dupage

Overview:
Run live audio for front of house/monitor mix for nationally recognized touring shows, resident professional orchestra, and college and community events. Manage the day of production operations for performances and events at the McAninch Arts Center (MAC) in order to provide all necessary technical and production services and to ensure the safety and comfort of patrons, performers and staff. Serve as full-time house technician and production manager.

Description:
• Serve as audio engineer for front of house or monitor mix for MAC events.
• Manage the day of production operations for presented and rental events at the MAC.
• Serve as liaison between the front-of-house and backstage operations for each performance space and coordinate production details with performers, stage managers, technicians, box office and house staff.

• Serve as Events Production Coordinator or Events Technical Specialist, when needed.
• Perform many of the same duties as a MAC Technician as required by events.
• Supervise technical crews and activities involved in each performance.
• Evaluate and execute a proper response to an emergency situation which may include contacting the College Police Department, coordinating evacuation procedures or providing basic first aid and fire safety instructions.
• Train students and technicians in the proper operation of equipment and technical procedures that are necessary to provide safe and reliable stage, lighting, sound, rigging, flying, wardrobe, projection, special effect and other theatre production services.
• Assist College Production Coordinator in support of College Music, Theatre and Dance productions as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
• Two years in professional or educational theatre running audio in a live setting.
• Extensive experience running audio for nationally recognized tours.
• Experience running audio for orchestras.
• Familiarity with theatrical lighting, lighting consoles, and theatrical rigging.
• Good working knowledge of technical theatre production activities and event management.

EDUCATION: Associate’s Degree with theatre production focus or core curriculum for Bachelor’s level major in Technical Theatre.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Advanced skills and experience in sound, lighting, and projections.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Theatre.

Additional Information:
Yamaha CL5/QL1; ETC Ion; power tools, manual and motorized stage equipment, theatrical and arena rigging, computers and software including MS Office, CAD, Photoshop, video and sound editing.

Includes evenings and weekends. Involves lifting, painting, working heights, occasional exposure to dust and fumes.
This position requires a background check and drug screen.

Starting salary is around $42,500 plus benefits and is based on experience.
