Stage Manager and sub Stage Manager

Black Button Eyes Productions is urgently seeking both a Stage Manager and sub Stage Manager for their upcoming summer production of the one-actor Conor McPherson play St. Nicholas, to be presented at City Lit Theater, 1020 W Bryn Mawr in Chicago, from June 26 to July 26, 2026.

• First rehearsal after Memorial Day (likely Tues May 26); all rehearsals prior to tech at a north side location TBD but convenient to public transportation
• Rehearsals either 3 hours on weekday evenings (Fridays always dark until tech), Saturday afternoons/early evenings,  or Sunday afternoons/evenings
• Load in to the City Lit space Monday June 22
• Tech week the evenings of Monday June 22-through Thursday June 25
• One preview performance Friday June 26 at 7:30 pm
• Opening night Saturday, June 27th at 7:30 pm
• Performances Thursdays-Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 3 pm through Sunday July 26 (closing matinee)
• Performance schedule exceptions: No performances on Saturday July 4,  And two additional performances: Monday July 13 at 7:30 pm,  and 2nd performance at 3 pm on Saturday July 18 (two show day).

Stage Manager candidates: Maximum rehearsal attendance is ideal, but some conflicts can be accepted due to the nature of the show and how soon rehearsals start.  Stipend negotiable but currently offering $1k.

Sub Stage Manager candidates: Looking for someone to attend at least tech and opening weekend performances, and be able to call performances in the absence of the stage manager, as well as attend a nominal number of rehearsals earlier in the process (meet-and-greet, designer run).  Stipend negotiable, but currently offering $500 plus $30 per called performance.
