Performing & Visual Arts Summer Camp Director

2025 Summer Camp Director: 8 am-4 pm- $22 an hour

Must be available June 16-August 13 with some preplanning in June.

Camp Location: 1500 N Hoyne, Chicago, IL

Planning, implementing, and supervising visual/performing arts camp for children ages 4 to 12 in a day camp setting. Camps include visual art, drama, dance, and music classes while creating original performances and art galleries.

Job Summary: 

– Assist in training and supervision of camp staff

– Assist and collaborate with other Camp Staff to create quality programming

– Lead a class/songs/activities for camp

– Attend to the health, safety, and discipline of campers at all times

– Manage supplies and maintain an organized and safe camp environment

– Maintain positive customer relations with campers and their parents

– Perform administrative tasks that support the efficient running of the program

– Be a positive role model for campers and staff, and arrive each day with an inclusive, professional, and upbeat attitude

Qualifications: 

– College degree or coursework in the arts, education or related field or equivalent experience, including teaching.

– Excellent organizational and communication skills and ability to cooperate and collaborate with artists.

– Must be able to physically keep up with children

– Responsible and reliable

– Prior camp experience and experience working with children

– Willingness to perform all job duties with enthusiasm and a positive outlook

– Deep appreciation for teamwork and drive to be part of a high-level team

– Fingerprint background check prior to start date
