Light Board Operator

Chicago Kids Company is Chicago’s oldest children’s theater company now celebrating their 32nd Season! Their mission is to enrich the lives of the young children of Chicago with their classic fairy tale productions, theater classes, and Summer Theater Camps.  Their shows and educational programs introduce children ages 2 to 17 to the magic of live theater, and inspire children to laugh, create, and dream.

Job Summary
Chicago Kids Company seeks a Light Board Operator to run the light board cues for their TYA production of “Mrs. Claus!” at the Beverly Arts Center- (2047 W. 111th St., Chicago, IL) AND the Stahl Family Theater in St. Patrick High School (5900 W Belmont Ave., Chicago, IL).  Performances are held on weekdays mornings at 10:30am and select Saturdays/Sundays at 11:00am.  “Mrs Claus!” is a one-hour musical that features adult professional actors.
·      Must attend Tech Rehearsal Dec. 2nd (BAC) or Dec. 6th (Stahl)
·      “Mrs. Claus!” runs at the Beverly Arts Center from December 3-23 and the Stahl Family Theater from Dec 11-23. We will be hiring two people, one for each theater.

Responsibilities
–    Run the lighting cues at each show. The Light Board Operator will arrive at 9:30 to set up the set and to make sure all the light cues are working properly.

–    The Lighting Operator will also help seat the children prior to the performance.

We are looking for someone who loves children’s theater!  We seek a bright, positive, friendly individual.  Having your own car is a must.  No prior lighting experience is necessary, but definitely a plus!
