Position Overview:

Marketing & Development Associate

This is a 3 month 1099 opportunity to support the organization with marketing and development tactics with a particular focus on the world premiere of the Emmy Award-Winning “Trial in the Delta” at The DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center, Feb. 9 – 19th. After 3 months there will be an opportunity to explore additional contracts. The position is mostly virtual, except for specific live events, and will be paid $18/hr with an estimated 60 hours per month (but paid on actual hours worked).

Summary:

Collaboraction is a 26 year old non-profit arts organization that creates original theatre and digital media that inspires change around Chicago’s critical social issues. Examples of such work include The Lost Story of Emmett Till: Trial in the Delta, Moonset Sunrise, Crime Scene: a Chicago Anthology, A Blue Island In the Red Sea, The Light youth ensemble and the annual Peacebook Festival.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities will be mostly focused on Trial in the Delta and include supporting marketing efforts, such as social media, group sales, community outreach, ad plan implementation and partnerships, and development tactics such as grant support, sponsor relations, pre-show receptions and individual donations.

The ideal candidate would have the following attributes:

● deep knowledge and experience with producing theatre and video;

● familiarity with non-profit marketing and development;

● demonstrates leadership and team building;

● project development skills;

● strong administrative skills;

● strong communication skills;

● creative problem-solving;

● multitasking skills;

● organizational skills;

● comfortable with google suite;

● passion and experience working with diverse communities;

● strong working knowledge of the Chicago Theatre Standards;

● working knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion practices in the workplace;

● comfortable working in a radically inclusive and equitable theatre environment;

Compensation:
