Seeking Apprentices for 3rd annual Encounter Series. This is a one of a kind one month long apprenticeship position.
Apprentices will gain a wide variety of experiences including learning how to run a fly system, following props tracking, working run crew for one or both programs of world premiere pieces, six mid-length pieces performed in two programs. Additional opportunities to learn other technical elements including but not limited to video, sound, lights, scenic will be available.
Apprenticeship is unpaid but may be completed for college credit if applicable.
Professional development opportunities, such as a resume/portfolio review at the end of internship, networking opportunities, and complementary tickets to Collaboraction productions.
Spacing/Tech: Jan. 7th – 12th
Production Rehearsal as Needed: Jan. 13th
Previews: Jan. 14th – 17th
Opening: Jan. 18th
Closing: Jan. 25th
Performances will be held at Kennedy King College at 6301 S. Halsted
Collaboraction incites social change through original devised theatre and community engagement that cultivates knowledge, dialogue and action around Chicago’s most critical social issues.
Encounter is an annual a performance series curated around diversity, equity and inclusion. The series is comprised of mid-length works (20 minutes or longer) of theater, visual art, music, video, dance and performance. In 2019 Encounter performed at Collaboraction Studios before select works toured to Englewood for a performance at Kennedy-King College.
