The Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park is seeking a Concessions Manager for an immediate full-time opening on our Operations team. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of excellent customer service, must be organized, energetic, and ready to lead a talented concessions team. The Concessions Manager reports directly to the Director of Operations.
-Supervises and motivates concession team members to achieve sales revenue goals and exemplify exceptional customer service.
-Manages inventory, control activities, and concessions expense budget.
-Hires, trains and educates concessions staff on company policies and procedures and in their assigned job responsibilities.
-Responsible for Concessions schedule and ensuring all performances and events are staffed appropriately and to meet renter and patron needs.
-Maintains vendor relationships while exploring new products and industry trends.
-Oversees cash management and prepares cash and sales reports after all performances and events.
-Conducts performance evaluation for direct reports and provide feedback for improvements.
-Adheres to and enforces federal, state and local regulations.
-Manages and maintains Theater’s Point of Sale (POS) system.
-Must have, or complete upon hire, current Illinois Bassett Certification and Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification.
-Up to the challenge of working in a fast-paced theater environment that requires solution-based thinking.
-Previous event, bar or food service management experience.
-Computer skills including previous experience with POS management and Microsoft office suite.
-Reliable transportation to work.
-Must be at least 21 years of age.
-Ability to work all Theater events, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
-Able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time. Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 45 pounds.
-Strong orientation to customer service and ability to work with other staff members in the organization.
-Excellent organizational, planning, communication, and inter-personal skills.
-Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks by deadlines.
-Ability to be creative and take initiative with promotional material, bar presentation, and product offerings while maintaining a quality experience.
