Overview

Summary:

Under the supervision of the Box Office & Ticketing Software Manager, the Assistant Box Office Manager will assist and provide quality customer service to customers’ purchases of tickets in a timely manner over the telephone, in person, and support online ticket sales using the TopTix SRO ticketing software. Handle daily account balancing and deposits. Lead a team of student box office assistants. Average of 18-20 hours/week. Sometimes less between productions and sometimes more during the run of a production. Weekend and evening work required.

Responsibilities:

Provide customers with expedient responses to requests and problems, using a broad, precise knowledge of Court Theatre’s performances, policies and services
Present a positive and welcoming first impression to customers
Handle daily account balancing and deposits
Must be proactive and forward thinking in all Box Office duties that may arise
Assist other departments by compiling customer data for use in planning promotions and advertising
Lead a team of student box office assistants
Gain knowledge of other Front of House job duties and may be asked to cover if necessary
Meet the obligations of the position by completing other activities as required

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor’s degree preferred
A minimum of two years of relevant experience required
Previous box office experience preferred

Technical Knowledge or Skills: 

Excellent customer service, communication skills & phone etiquette
Attention to details a must
Accurate in keyboarding skills
Able to make financial transactions and make changes
Ability to remain pleasant during challenging situations
Proficient in Windows based computer programs
Ability to work efficiently and independently
