POSITION SUMMARY:  

The YP Supervisor is responsible for the immediate supervision, welfare, and management of the YP(s). An essential member of the company, the YP Supervisor will be in attendance throughout rehearsals, technical rehearsals, fittings, marketing/press needs (as requested) and all performances. This position requires someone who loves working with children and would be eager to foster a joyful, supportive and warm environment for them.

Young Performer Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for the supervision, welfare and management of all Young Performers at all times.
  • Provide supervision during meal breaks.
  • Meet Young Performers in the lobby when dropped off and deliver them to their Parents/Guardians at the end of rehearsal/performances.
  • Escort Young Performers to and from the stage for all entrances and exits.
  • Communicate with Parents/Guardians and Stage Management to ensure that the needs of the Young Performers are met.
  • Assist the Young Performers with the tracking of blocking and choreography and the learning lines and/or music as necessary.
  • Coach the YPs in theatrical rehearsal procedures and performance etiquette customary to a professional theatre environment.
  • Help with homework as necessary.
  • YPS will observe blocking ,notes and may be asked to walk the role of the YP if the YP is absent from rehearsal.
  • Abide by all rules and regulations put forth by Court Theatre.
  • A YP is defined as an individual hired by the theatre to perform in a production who is 16 years old or younger.

Education: 
Vocational or University Training in Child Care, Customer Service or related field

Working Conditions: 

  • Moves throughout the theatre to various locations.
  • May remain in a stationary position for up to 4 hours.
  • May work  in dusty, noisy, low-light, or brightly-lit environments.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience working with children.
  • Stage Management, Production Assistant, Acting and/or Teaching Experience beneficial.
  • Understanding of theatrical rehearsal procedures and performance etiquette.
  • A background check will be required.
  • Experience coaching children to sing is beneficial.
  • Fluency in Hebrew is beneficial.
