The Digital Content Coordinator is a member of the digital content team, which focuses its efforts on the creation and dissemination of multimedia content to support revenue generation, brand awareness, audience development and engagement, and institutional messaging for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association. The Digital Content Coordinator provides support for and manages digital content projects, with special attention on video, photo and audio content that is shared through the Experience CSO website and social media. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, idea generation, curation and distribution of digital assets, video editing and project management.


In addition, the Digital Content Coordinator is responsible for the preparation and editing of program books for Symphony Center Presents Jazz, CSO MusicNOW and other select concerts. All publications must be produced with careful attention to detail with the intention of creating publications that enhance as well as inform the audience experience in addition to providing an accurate representation of CSOA performances. These responsibilities are performed under the direction of the program book’s editorial team.

  1. Assist with various aspects of a variety of video, photo and audio content projects for the Experience CSO website and social media. Responsibilities include idea generation, digital asset curation and distribution, project management, video editing, review and approval circulation, and more.
  2. Promote diversity, inclusivity, and empowerment with marketing department team members.
  3. Manage a portfolio of video projects including promotional trailers for Symphony Center Presents Jazz, CSO MusicNOW and other select concerts, as well as timely content for holidays and composer/artist birthdays, evergreen content related to the art form, and other CSOA-related content.
  4. Provide basic video editing support for projects, such as adding title and end cards, lower-thirds, etc.
  5. Assist in providing guidance to in-house and freelance video editors on content selection and vision for projects, as well as culling and delivering all digital assets for the projects.
  6. Work with design team to prep assets for video projects.
  7. Secure necessary sync licenses for audio tracks prior to release.
  8. Coordinate review circulations and secure approvals for digital content projects, then share and upload final files to the digital asset management system.
  9. Curate Spotify and other audio playlists, video playlists and photo galleries for the CSO Experience website and social media.
  10. Assist with video and audio recording and editing of CSO musician and guest artist interviews.
  11. Assist with project management of concert performance excerpt videos including selection of musical excerpts, coordination of sync license permissions, communicating with videographer, score reader, audio engineer, stagehands and others, and assisting with video editing.
  12. Cull, edit and prepare materials for program books for Symphony Center Presents Jazz, CSO MusicNOW and other select concerts. Materials include program page listings, sponsorship acknowledgements, program notes, artist biographies, headshots, special features and rosters. Edit copy to ensure accuracy and for compliance with CSOA style and tone; deliver materials to the designer for layout by the deadline; and circulate drafts for review and final approvals before files are sent to the printer.
  13. Serve as departmental representative at CSOA events on an as-needed basis, including support for in-the-moment social media coverage for CSOA concerts and events, which includes collaborating with the CSO photographer/videographer, curating photos, writing social media copy, posting to the CSO’s social media accounts and sharing user-generated content.
  14. Process invoices and expense reports for independent contractors working with the digital content team.
  15. Other duties as assigned.



  1. Reports to Associate Director of Digital Content & Producer with supervision for program book responsibilities provided by Director of Content
  2. Frequently collaborates with members of the digital content, program book, creative services, product marketing, public relations and artistic teams, as well as guest artist managers.
  3. Also works with members of the operations, development and Negaunee Music Institute teams, as well as freelance photographers, videographers and video editors.



  1. Bachelor’s degree in journalism, media, communications, marketing and/or music or equivalent experience required.
  2. Minimum of two years of experience creating and editing content required, with a preference for experience with video, photo and audio projects.
  3. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  4. Excellent communication, writing and editing skills required.
  5. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  6. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required and Adobe Creative Suite preferred. Familiarity with digital video, photo and audio formats and willingness to learn emerging technologies and/or software is required.
  7. Knowledge of and appreciation for classical, jazz and new music is preferred.
