Elsinore

Elsinore is seeking a Stage Manager for A Picasso by Jeffrey Hatcher, directed by Devon Carson.

About The Play:

1941. In Occupied Paris, Pablo Picasso is summoned to a storage vault by a Nazi “cultural attaché” to confirm the authenticity of three “confiscated” Picasso paintings before they are included in an exhibition. But the true purpose of the exhibition is soon revealed: a burning of “degenerate” art by the German Ministry of Propaganda. A high-stakes cat-and-mouse negotiation ensues, covering the topics of art, politics, sex and truth in this fast-paced and funny drama. Does Picasso have the power to save any of the paintings – or will they all be thrown to the flames?

About The Production:

A Picasso will be presented in Studio 44 at the Greenhouse Theatre Center (2257 N. Lincoln Ave). Rehearsals begin August 11.  Load in will be ~ 9/29. Performances will be on Fridays through Sundays beginning October 10 through November 2, with a preview on Thurs 10/9, and another Thursday evening performance on 10/23. Strike November 2.
