COMPENSATION RATE: $20.81 per hour
LOCATION: 170. N Dearborn St., Chicago, IL 60601
DATES: November 6, 2024 – December 30, 2024
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Goodman Theatre seeks Run Crew for our annual production of A Christmas Carol. Run Crew are essential members of the company who will join the production with the start of technical rehearsals to learn the running of the show and will then be required to attend all rehearsals and performances as scheduled through closing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and clean the stage prior to all rehearsals and performances.
- Responsible for presetting scenery and props under the direction of the House Carpenter and Stage Management Team.
- Shift scenery, aid with prop handoffs, run the show and maintain the quality of the production.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :
- Working knowledge of backstage theatre practices and procedures.
- Previous Run Crew/Stagehand experience.
- Punctuality and professionalism.
- Positive team-member collaboration.
- Clear and effective communication.
- Ability to repeatedly lift, push or maneuver up to 50-70 lbs., either alone or with assistance, and able to climb ladders and work in high places.
- Model behavior and values consistent with Goodman’s Community Agreements and furthering Goodman’s IDEAA (inclusion, diversity, equity, anti-racism and access) goals.
