Stage Managers – GreatWorks Theatre

GreatWorks is seeking one to three non-AEA stage managers to join our team for the 2025/26 season. GreatWorks is a touring company based in Chicago, with a roster of ten TYA productions, including DON’T LET THE PIGEON DRIVE THE BUS!, ROMEO & JULIET, a Harriet Tubman bio show, and several social studies or literature based productions. Performances occur during school days (Mon-Fri) and we are accepting bookings throughout the school year,  so daytime availability and a flexible schedule required.

Productions rehearse at our North Center rehearsal studio (typically 6 to 8 three-hour calls), and perform at locations throughout the Chicagoland area, with occasional overnight bookings out of town. SMs also serve as sound ops for our performances – some experience with Macs with QLab helpful, but not required.  Drivers License and clean driving record required, as driving company minivans with the props/set/costumes to the performance locations is part of the work load.

Calls will vary every month, but 4 to 8 dates per month is typical (except for season productions, which are often booked every day during their limited runs). Typical work day has a call of 8am at our Byron St studio, and a return time of 12noon to 1pm.
