Harper College is currently seeking applications for the Auxiliary Events Technical Director position. The Director is responsible for the arrangement and management of the technical aspects of the outdoor Pavilion for Harper sponsored events and outside rentals.  This includes performing technical setup of theatre lighting and sound equipment as well as any additional staging equipment to provide smooth running, strike and clean up needed for events in the outdoor pavilion. The successful candidate recommends for hire, provides direction, trains, schedules and oversees the day to day activities of all part-time technical support personnel and student aides with input from the PAC Technical Director. You will also provide assistance to the PAC and J-Theatre Technical Directors for productions in the PAC, J Building, M Building, A Building and outside locations as needed.


Requirements include:

B.A. or B.F.A. in technical theatre preferred, Bachelor’s Degree required
At least three years of technical theatre experience, which includes but is not limited to carpentry, electric, computer lighting systems and sound design.
At least two years of experience in general maintenance of technical equipment and technical service area
