At Hubbard Street Dance Chicago (HSDC), we bring artists, art and audiences together to enrich, engage, and change lives through the experience of dance. Hubbard Street Dance Chicago is home to the premier contemporary dance company in the United States, the largest dance facility in Chicago, and serves the community through youth, education, and community engagement programs, and adaptive dance programs that serve thousands of children across the Chicago area.
We are seeking Overhire Stitchers. Stitchers are responsible for building and altering costumes under the supervisions of the draper or first hand and may take on additional duties as assigned. Position is hourly. No travel or housing compensation is available for this position.
· Experience with industrial and home sewing machines, hand sewing and finishing techniques, laundry, and basic knowledge of costume construction techniques.
· Experience with dance-wear is appreciated but not required.
· Ability to work with varied personalities and timetables a must.
