Food Runner

iO Theater, Chicago’s home of improv comedy since 1981, is looking for a part time food runner! This position would report directly to the House Managers & the GM of Food, Beverage, and Events.

Pay: minimum wage + tipout

Hours: 10-15 per week with growth opportunities; night & weekend availability required.

Duties:

• Check that expo has included all sauces, acknowledged all mods, and other elements of ensuring order accuracy.
• Run multiple orders of food to different theaters, quickly and with accuracy, utilizing trays of varying sizes.
• Communicate with servers or MOD regarding any requests/issues mentioned by guests.
• Act as mouthpiece of kitchen; alert staff and management when items are 86d or any other messages that need to be spread to FOH.
• Execute proper steps of service in accordance with service guidelines

The ideal candidates fit the following criteria:

• 1 yr+ of prior theater/restaurant experience in similar role
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods of time; ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
