Position: Kobotech Set-Up Technician at Chicago Cultural Center

Position Summary

The Kobotech Set-Up Technician at the Chicago Cultural Center works as part of a team of highly motivated technicians to help produce some of Chicago’s most visible public and private events. Directed by the Kobotech Set Up Shift Lead and reporting to Kobotech Production Manager and Assistant Production Manager, the Set-Up Technician collaborates with team members to set, flip, strike, or reset multiple rental spaces within the Chicago Cultural Center  or at other locations around the city, ensuring successful and timely execution for all events at the Chicago Cultural Center.

Reports To

Kobotech Production Manager at Chicago Cultural Center.

Kobotech Assistant Production Manager at Chicago Cultural Center.

Kobotech Set Up Shift Lead (per shift basis).

Status

Regular, Part-Time, Non-Exempt.

Location

Primary location: Chicago Cultural Center. Occasional off-site support may be required at Millennium Park or other facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate with the Shift Lead and team members to understand roles and responsibilities for setting up event spaces.
Arrive on time in the provided Kobotech uniform (shirt, black pants, work gloves).
Set up, strike, or reset event spaces according to event requirements as directed by the Shift Lead.
Report defective equipment discovered during setup or breakdown to the Shift Lead.
Notify the Shift Lead of client or staff requests to add or remove equipment after a space has been set.
Assist with clearing storage spaces for catering prep.
Perform post-event building checks as directed by the Shift Lead.
Complete and submit shift timesheets to the Shift Lead.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Kobotech Production Manager and Assistant Production Manager to address evolving business needs.

Skills, Knowledge, and Essential Attributes

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow directions effectively.
Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Commitment to best practices in health and safety.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Proficiency in reading and understanding diagrams and detailed floor plans.
Basic math skills.
Familiarity with G-Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Requirements

Ability to consistently lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and irregular hours as required.
Adaptability to the physical demands of moving and setting up event equipment.

Compensation

$23 per hour, 4 hour minimum for all production work.
