About moonwatchers
When two moon janitors clock in for their shift, it seems just like any other night. Only tonight, the moon has been stolen by the most dastardly criminal in the whole galaxy! Join us as our heroes encounter cows, comets, and werewolves. Prepare to be moo-ved! Inspired comic clowning, live music, and all manner of lunar lunacy abound in this sci-fi vaudeville show about two “moon janitors” that was a runaway hit of the 2022 MN Fringe Festival. The Lighting Designer is responsible for the conception, execution, and implementation of all lighting elements for the production, working in consultation with and under the supervision of the Director and Producer. This role includes creating all required lighting paperwork (light plot, instrument schedule, cue sheet, and vertical section), selecting and arranging lighting instruments, gels, and control equipment, and overseeing or assisting with their installation. The Lighting Designer provides cost estimates and supports the Producer in establishing the lighting budget, adhering strictly to the approved budget. The Designer leads and participates in load-in, hang, focus, and programming, attends all scheduled technical rehearsals, and ensures the lighting functions effectively within the performance space. Following opening, the Designer remains available for maintenance or adjustments as needed and supervises the strike and removal of all lighting equipment at the close of the production.
