Position: Marketing Associate (Part-Time; Hybrid)
Reports to: Managing Producer
Location: Chicago, IL
Lifeline Theatre is seeking a creative, organized, and strategic Marketing Associate to lead our marketing and communications efforts. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about storytelling, audience development, and championing the arts through compelling branding and outreach.
The Marketing Associate is responsible for developing and implementing Lifeline’s annual marketing plan – working across print, digital, email, press, events, and advertising channels. You’ll help shape the theatre’s public image, grow and engage audiences, and play a key role in advancing Lifeline’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Marketing & Branding
-Develop and execute annual marketing and communications strategies
-Maintain and evolve a cohesive brand across all platforms and departments
-Collaborate with leadership to ensure marketing aligns with artistic vision
-Create and execute marketing plans for productions, events, and fundraising campaigns
Audience Development & Engagement
-Grow and deepen audience relationships, from first-time patrons to loyal subscribers and donors
-Partner with Development team and leadership to build multi-level engagement strategies
-Identify and cultivate potential sponsors and volunteers
Content Creation & Media Relations
-Oversee creation of all promotional materials, including print, digital, and signage
-Write compelling copy for all campaigns and communications
-Coordinate visual assets with designers and photographers
-Manage website content and updates
Event & Campaign Management
-Support special events, photo shoots, and promotional opportunities
-Support subscription sales, fundraising efforts, and annual reporting through targeted campaigns
Budgeting & Analysis
-Manage the annual marketing budget; track expenses and vendor costs
-Analyze audience data and campaign performance to inform future strategy
-Maintain organized records and provide regular reports for the Board
Qualifications
-Two plus years of experience in marketing, communications, or related field (nonprofit or arts experience a plus)
-Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
-A collaborative spirit and enthusiasm for Lifeline’s mission
-Strong writing and editing skills
-Graphic design experience a plus
-Experience with brand development, content creation, and campaign execution
-Familiarity with: Email marketing tools/Constant Contact, Social media/Facebook, Instagram, etc., and Wordpress
Compensation
Hourly rate: $20–25, commensurate with experience. Anticipated weekly hours: 10-15.
As a part-time/hourly role, this position is not benefits-eligible.
