Front of House Associate

Lifeline Theatre is seeking to fill the position of a part time Front of House Associate. This is a year-round, part-time position, with an average range of 8-12 hours per week, dependent on the production schedule. This role is compensated at $17 per hour.

The Position

This Front of Associate is the backbone of Lifeline’s patron services team, and will alternate between house management, greeting, and shuttle driving duties, with the potential for some Box Office or concessions duties. The Front of House Associate embraces hospitality and seeks to welcome patrons with top-notch customer service. This position will work in conjunction with the other Front of House Associates and report to the Communications Manager. Hours for this position vary based on production schedule.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Being a friendly and knowledgeable first point of contact for patrons.
  • Overseeing and training volunteer ushers.
  • Driving patrons to the theatre before and after performances from the remote parking lot.
  • Processing ticket and concessions transactions and preparing will-call tickets.
  • Performing and assisting in other duties and special projects as assigned.

Availability:

  • MainStage Performances: Friday 7:30 PM, Saturday 2:30 PM & 7:30 PM, Sunday 2:30 PM.  Hours vary relative to the performance schedule:
  • KidSeries Performances: Saturdays & Sundays 11am 1pm

Requirements:

  • Valid Illinois driver’s license
  • Vaccination and booster for COVID-19
  • Consistent availability on Friday evenings, and Saturdays and Sundays
  • Comfortable and confident in speaking with folks from all walks of life.
  • Strong sense of welcoming and hospitality; some customer service experience preferred
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in an environment with many simultaneous demands.
