STATUS:                      Full-time, Non-Exempt

We are searching for a collaborative and data passionate Coordinator, Donor Services responsible for accurate and timely processing of the Development department revenue transactions, administration,  and contribution acknowledgments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate leadership in alignment with Lyric’s mission and vision.
  • Accurately enter donor contributions in a timely manner. Review and post daily Batch Reports for our
  • Finance team and daily Contribution Reports for our Development team.
  • Prepare, print, and deliver acknowledgment letters for each contribution, providing our donors with important tax information.
  • Properly file and maintain documentation for all contributions to ensure that documents are easily accessible for our annual audit.
  • Provide superior customer service to donors by phone, serving their needs in contributing and/or obtaining acknowledgments for their tax records.
  • Ensure that donor records are updated and cleaned up throughout the year, including routine maintenance and ad hoc data hygiene projects.
  • Respond to Development staff reporting inquiries regarding patron gift history.
  • Attend and assist with department events and donor experiences. This may require you to occasionally work outside of normal business hours.
  • As the business evolves, so may this role. These duties may change as Lyric’s leadership identifies the need at any time.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience working with Tessitura or a similar contribution management software.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Scrupulous attention to detail and strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of and comfort working with Microsoft and Google Apps suite of products.

WORK CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to work on-site at the Lyric Opera of Chicago administrative offices as well as remotely, including required on-site work during the last week of the calendar year.
  • Ability to occasionally oversee evening or weekend functions, deployments, or performances.
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without accommodations.

COMPENSATION:
Job Classification: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Salary is $40,000-$43,000
