Salary: $65,000-$70,000 a year-Full Time

Work Model: Hybrid, LOCT team is in office 3 days a week and remote 2 days a week however
employee may be required in office all days when necessary. This position does require offsite
visits, in-person meetings, attendance at events and off-schedule hours.
Direct Report: Executive Director
Supervisor to: Digital Media Manager and League Apprentice
The Marketing Director is responsible for directing all external marketing strategy and communication of
the League of Chicago Theatres. The Marketing Director leads initiatives which aim to grow the Chicago
theatre audience. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing Director takes an active leadership
role in the advancement of marketing and promotion of Chicago theatre. Some of the role’s specific and
essential tasks may include:
- The development, implementation, and ongoing assessment (with metrics) of a comprehensive, integrated strategic communications function that will leverage new and traditional media (as well as emerging channels) and public relations to elevate the profile of LOCT
- In partnership with staff , developing a cohesive marketing strategy to significantly increase audience share regionally, decision-making groups such as potential funders, community-based organizations, government leaders, and the general public.
- Building and maintaining strong media relationships to improve the breadth and depth of media coverage about the work and impact of LOCT alongside the Press Consultant
- Working in collaboration with others, identifying new and innovative opportunities to showcase the work and leadership of LOCT, the artistic community, programming and partners.
- Create marketing content for email outreach, fundraising campaigns, weekly newsletters, seasonal programming and in-person events
- Partnering with Development to brand and market funder stewardship and cultivation deliverables
- Building and managing an editorial calendar that encompasses short -form and long-form content across all LOCT programs and channels
- Overseeing the day-to-day activities of the marketing function, including budgeting, QuickBooks management of invoices and bills about marketing department, budget management, planning, department administration, and staff development; managing the use of consultants as needed
- Draft, edit, and distribute letters, web posts/stories, statements, media advisories, press releases, brochures, and other materials to membership, donors, staff , community partners, and the media
- Oversee and review communications software applications that facilitate internal communications, customer service, and operational effectiveness on an ongoing basis.
- Establish a visual assets library
- Proof read and revise materials for public dissemination
- Manage the cooperative advertising program.
- Meet annual income goals.
- Oversee Hot Tix marketing planning and strategy.
- Direct all major marketing campaign initiatives including Chicago Theatre Week, Gala and Career Fair
- Seek, build, and maintain strategic vendor and sponsor partnerships with cultural organizations, local businesses, tourism agencies, and other companies.
- Manage marketing department

Experience & Knowledge
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through < 3 years of work experience in
development, nonprofit management, alumni relations, marketing, public relations, or similar professional
work experience.
Skills
Candidates should have demonstrated ability of:
- B.S. in marketing, arts administration, or a similar field or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with HTML, website content management systems, and email marketing clients
- Experience in and familiarity with marketing plans and the Chicago advertising landscape
- Knowledge of Chicago theatre and a passion to advance the mission of the League
- Excellent organizational and project management skills; attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively.
- Strong verbal communications skills.
- Commitment to social justice and racial equity.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and partners.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development as well as team and self -evaluation.

- Familiarity with Chicago theatre
