Job Summary: Metropolis Performing Arts Centre is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in the heart of downtown Arlington Heights. It houses a 329-seat professional theater, as well as a full School of Performing Arts that includes drama, dance, and music instruction. We have a collaborative, fast-paced work environment staffed with professionals who love the arts. This position is for 10-20 hours per week. Associates must be available for weekend and evening scheduling.

Job Responsibilities:
- Complete ticket processes using AudienceView: sell/exchange tickets, process cast/employee complimentary tickets (according to policy), sell gift certificates, sell subscriptions.
- Associates accept payment in cash, check, credit card, account credits, or gift card.
- Assist patrons courteously over the phone, face to face, and by email using the Customer Service email address.
- Process donation voucher tickets and accurately log all vouchers redeemed.
- Provide superb customer service at all times.
- Stay current on all discounts, promotions, and sales policies, as well as how to process them in AudienceView.
- Complete all opening and closing procedures.
- Guide guests to other local venues if needed.
- Complete end-of-day reconciling and create daily deposits as needed.
- Coordinate projects assigned by the Audience Services Director or Supervisor to be completed in a timely fashion.
- Replenish lobby brochure displays as needed with marketing materials from the back room.
- Complete occasional seasonal or short-term tasks (i.e. plugging in/unplugging holiday lights, setting out donation boxes or displays, etc.).
- Cross-train as a House Manager for Metropolis as needed.
- Work with House Managers to resolve seating issues.
- Demonstrate consistent and dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Demonstrate PERFORM values of Metropolis and create an inclusive/accessible environment for all.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma preferred.
- At least 1-3 years of experience in similar customer service roles is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately handle patron transactions is required.
- A friendly and welcoming workstyle is required.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
This position is regularly required to speak, hear, type, and handle items such as tickets, currency, headsets, hand-held receivers, and cell phones. The work environment is a public-facing theater with several restaurant/bar adjacent areas with above-average noise levels.
