Midnight Circus is hiring a Sound Engineer for our “Midnight Circus in the Parks” 2024 Tour. Four weekends of performances across Chicago, Sept. 7-29.

Each weekend Midnight Circus sets up in a different park across Chicago and brings our high-flying theatrical circus to thousands of Chicagoans of all ages and demographics.

Sept. 7 – Grand Crossing Park – Sept. 14 & 15 McKinley Park – Sept. 21 & 22 Jefferson Park – Sept. 27, 28 & 29 Welles Park.

Duties include: Setting up sound system (day prior to shows): speakers, board, mics, initial sound check, etc. Monitoring levels and maintaining gear during shows. Striking equipment following the last show of the weekend.

Most of the show is prerecorded music run by our DJ. We do include one (sometimes) two live songs in the circus, as our acrobats are trained musicians. Sound Engineer will coordinate equipment and monitor/mix levels on instruments & mics during this part of the show.

Rehearsals: August 26 – Sept. 5, Ideally Sound Engineer can attend two (daytime) rehearsals to meet cast, go over equipment and run any live songs that will be in the show.
