Midsommer Flight seeks an AD/ASM for its eighth annual outdoor Shakespeare production in four Chicago parks this summer. Rehearsals for THE TEMPEST, directed by Producing Artistic Director Beth Wolf, will begin May 28, with performances running July 6 – August 25, 2019. The Assistant Director will attend all rehearsals and work with the director, cast and crew through the process of creating the show. Most rehearsals take place outdoors in the parks where we will perform, Monday through Thursday evenings and Saturdays 10 AM – 5 PM.
When the performance run begins, the position will transition to an ASM role. Performances run Saturdays at 6 PM and Sundays at 2 PM, with one 11 AM performance on 8/10. The ASM will be expected to attend all performances, assist with set up and tear down in the parks, and other duties as assigned by the director and/or stage manager. Ideal candidates are organized, responsible, and self-motivated, with a passion for Shakespeare and working in Chicago communities.
