Website Midsommer Flight

High quality, accessible Shakespeare in Chicago communities.

Midsommer Flight seeks an ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGER for our outdoor summer production of LOVE’S LABOUR’S LOST, directed by Beth Wolf and stage managed by Hailey Piorek.

Rehearsals begin May 19 and will run Monday through Thursday evenings (times vary depending on whether indoors or outdoors; either 7-10 PM or 6:30-9 PM) and Saturdays from 10 AM to 4 PM. There are two weekday dress rehearsals on June 25 and 26 from 12-5 PM. Performances are June 27 – August 3, 2025, at various park locations around the city, on Fridays and Saturdays at 6 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. There is one Thursday performance on July 3 (no performance on July 4).

Because of the traveling nature of the show, the ASM may find it easier if they own a car; however, this is not a requirement.

Midsommer Flight has been presenting high quality, accessible, free outdoor Shakespeare productions in Chicago parks since 2012. Both onstage and behind the scenes, we seek to reflect the diversity of the Chicago communities in which we work; therefore BIPOC and LGBTQ applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. Midsommer Flight is an equal opportunity employer and considers applicants for all positions without regard to race, color, religion, creed, gender, national origin, age, disability, marital or veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other legally protected status. You can read the company’s full statement on Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility on our website at https://midsommerflight.com/idea/. Shared joy and flights of fancy are for everyone.
