POSITION SUMMARY

The Group Sales Manager works in close partnership with the Associate Director of Marketing to support the continued growth and success of the Group Sales program. Together, they lead efforts to expand Group Ticket sales and help support memorable Group Sale and Marketing event experiences tied to the theater’s productions. This role plays a key part in building and strengthening community partnerships, driving revenue, and ensuring group patrons have a welcoming and engaging experience from start to finish. The ideal candidate is a people-person with a passion for the performing arts, who thrives in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines to meet.

 

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • In coordination with the Associate Director of Marketing, develop and implement strategies to grow group sales across all productions.
    Cultivate and maintain relationships with schools, tour operators, corporate groups, senior centers, faith organizations, and other community groups.
  • Attend networking events, community meetings, and expos to promote group sales and build partnerships.
  • Make outbound phone calls to solicit group sales.
  • Administer all aspects of group bookings including inquiries, pricing, contracts, invoicing, and ticket fulfillment.
    Work cross-departmentally to create group packages, discounts, and special promotions.
  • Work with other Marketing Department staff to promote, execute and staff various special pre-and post-events/promotional nights.
  • Track sales goals and performance metrics; regularly report on progress to Supervisor and Department Head.
  • In coordination with the Associate Director of Marketing, create and distribute promotional materials targeted at group buyers and community leaders.
  • Maintain up-to-date contact records and notes in the CRM system (e.g., Tessitura).
  • Act as an ambassador for the theater, representing its mission and values in all interactions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Enthusiasm for live theater and/or the performing arts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships across diverse communities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; detail-oriented and deadline-driven.
  • Demonstrated strong strategic planning, analytical and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (Tessitura preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Sales, or the performing arts or combination of relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in sales, event planning, marketing, or customer service; performing arts or non-profit experience preferred.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends for events or performances as needed.
  • Position is 100% in-office at our downtown Milwaukee location.
  • Ability to pass a background check in accordance with state and/or Federal laws.

  • Job requires use of close vision.
