POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all theatrical operations in conjunction with the Artistic Director (AD). Specific duties include: coordinate hiring and execute contracts for designers and production staff, serve as a resource to production staff, facilitate the creation and management of production budgets, schedule production meetings, manage facilities space calendar, plan and participate in the maintenance, preparation and improvement of production facilities and participate in gathering props, running sound, and/or lighting for educational program showcases. The Production Coordinator also assists the other departments with special events, company-wide projects, and space maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1.     Assist Artistic Director in filling all production positions. Contact artists, post job openings, schedule interviews, prepare individual contracts, and maintain a master list with all personnel contact information.

2.     Manage the onboarding process for independent contractors including the collection and coordination of tax forms, background checks, and other company onboarding requirements.

3.     Manage schedules and decision deadlines for venue selection and seating capacity.

4.     Plan production schedules and design deadlines.

5.     Attend tech rehearsals and oversee strike.

6.     Support casting and program registration, including creating audition schedules, attending and supporting auditions, compiling cast contact lists, and creating registration forms.

7.     Assist in communicating with parents of actors and monitor email inboxes for questions.

8.     Update rehearsal schedules on the website.

9.     Print program and productions programs and scripts.

10.  Participate in gathering props, running sound, and/or lighting for educational program showcases.

11.  Manage facilities space calendar and space access in close coordination with the Education Director

12.  Plan and participate in the maintenance, preparation, and improvement of production ad office facilities.

13.  Complete regular reorganization of inventory and storage areas.

14.  Coordinate and orient facility renters and visiting productions to Mudlark’s stages.

15.  Assist with planning and coordination of production/performance needs for Mudlark’s annual benefit, including day of event support.

16.  Track and source office and theater supplies throughout season.

17.  Attend bimonthly staff meetings.

18.  All employees are expected to attend bimonthly staff meetings, assist with Mudlark’s annual benefit (September 17, 2022) and assist with other development events.

19.  Additional opportunities are available to direct/perform/design in the season, depending on skill set.

SCHEDULE: This position requires 35-40 hours a week, including some evening and weekend hours.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1.     Production experience in performing arts with working knowledge of technical theater and production management.

2.     Experience managing production budgets.

3.     Strong organizational and planning skills with an exemplary attention to detail.

4.     Proven ability to anticipate and troubleshoot potential problems.

5.     Experience coordinating production and design meetings.

6.     Understanding of and ability to troubleshoot software for lighting and sound equipment and technology.

7.     Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong emphasis on communication.

8.     Understanding of anti-racism and anti-oppression principles and practices, and the ability to interact effectively with people of different cultures and socio-economic backgrounds.
