Drama and Dance Class Instructors

The Northbrook Park District is seeking passionate and experienced Drama and Dance instructors to inspire creativity, confidence, and a love for the performing arts.

This position is responsible for teaching assigned classes in a designated program area, within established program guidelines and while providing the proper guidance and support for each participant. Class instruction may vary based on level of expertise of students/attendees and age range of students/attendees. May instruct classes for children through adult age. Demonstrates commitment to the Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles of the District.

Pay & Schedule:
$25.00 – $35.00 Per Hour

This is a part-time, non-exempt position to start in January. Instructors are needed for classes on weekday evenings/afternoons, and weekend mornings.

Duties & Responsibilities:

-Develops and implements lessons or schedule supporting the established program curriculum.
-Actively engages all students and provides support and constructive feedback.
-Tracks attendance records and documents student progress, when required.
-Prepares students for end of session shows or recitals as needed.
-Prepares students/attendees for games as needed.
-Arrives before class start time to inspect instruction space, set-up equipment and supplies if needed and greet students.
-Regularly updates Leisure Services Supervisor on the condition of the teaching space and equipment.
-Plans and organizes class routines, projects, performances, recital(s), when required.
-Diligently follows and adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
-Collaborates with internal and external customers in a positive manner.
-Follows safe work practices.
