Working under the supervision of the Director of Advancement, the Events Manager is responsible for all aspects of fundraising events and donor stewardship events, administering the Community Partners program, and fulfilling donor benefits as well as performing general donor stewardship. The Events Manager assists with Audience Engagement events and staffs Board meetings, as well as providing concierge service to the Board and Advisory Council.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
§ Serve as primary point person for the strategy, conception and management of fundraising events and donor receptions, including Opening Nights. Lead Event Committees, schedule and run committee meetings with co-chairs, develop and track invitations and responses, and manage all logistics of events. Supervise staff and interns in the execution of events as appropriate.
§ Coordinate invite lists, invitations, RSVPs and attendance for donor events including Opening Nights, Donor Receptions, and other events as assigned. Seat Opening Night patrons and communicate ticket needs to Box Office.
§ With appropriate staff, develop, coordinate and implement cultivation events in the community with the primary objective being to develop a new base of support (patrons and/or donors) and to increase visibility of Northlight.
§ Manage Community Partners program, including maintaining relationships with current partners as well as identifying and engaging new partners. Manage benefits for each partner throughout the season.
§ Fulfill Individual, Board and Foundation benefits of Gala, Production and Season sponsors.
§ Manage logistics for and staff Board of Trustees meetings, taking minutes, then distributing and maintaining files of minutes and attachments.
§ Assist with tracking of Board giving and invoicing, follow-ups, etc.
§ Assist with the Legacy Society initiative and track membership and pledges
§ Provide concierge service to Board members for Northlight issues as needed.
§ Identify, research, strategize, manage and assist Director of Advancement, Artistic & Executive Directors in stewarding individual donors and prospects as appropriate.
§ Participate in long-range planning, feasibility studies, and/or capital campaigns as requested.
§ Serve as the Advancement Department representative on the Audience Engagement Team and participate in Audience Engagement programs as appropriate
§ Adhere to Northlight policies as listed in Employee Handbook.
§ Perform any additional duties as assigned by Supervisor.
§ This position is a team member of the Northlight staff. All staff members support Northlight at large. All personnel participate, within regularly scheduled work hours or as needed, in all Northlight functions as requested, on site and off.
Qualifications: Must have at least three years development experience with a concentration in individual giving and special events. Must be highly organized, with the ability to effectively manage timelines and multiple tasks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and strong presentation skills. Superior communication and technological skills required. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work in a fast-paced, high energy environment.
Compensation: Compensation is between $35K-40K annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience and is competitive with prevailing compensation for similar positions within the non-profit performing arts industry. The range of benefits includes medical, dental and vision insurance, vacation pay, paid sick leave, and a 401(k) retirement program.
