Lead Electrician

PrideArts is looking for a Lead Electrician for their upcoming production of A New Brain by William Finn and James Lapine.  PrideArts Artistic Director Jay Espano will direct, with Robert Ollis serving as Musical Director.

By the Tony Award-winning authors of Falsettos, A New Brain is an energetic, sardonic, often comical musical about a composer during a medical emergency. Gordon collapses into his lunch and awakes in the hospital, surrounded by his maritime-enthusiast lover, his mother, a co-worker, the doctor, and the nurses. Reluctantly, he had been composing a song for a children’s television show that features a frog — Mr. Bungee — and the specter of this large green character and the unfinished work haunts him throughout his medical ordeal. What was thought to be a tumor turns out to be something more operable, and Gordon recovers, grateful for a chance to compose the songs he yearns to produce.

Rehearsals begin June 30. Tech rehearsals begin approximately August 6. The show opens on August 25 and closes on September 14. All rehearsals and performances will be in The Hoover-Leppen Theatre at Center on Halsted.

Working in conjunction with the Lighting Designer, the LE will be responsible for assisting with hang and focus.  The LE will start approximately August 6 and will need to be on-call throughout the run.
